"The Beauty of Information"
David McCandless presented Information is Beautiful, the first of a year-long "experimental portfolio" of Information visualization at the 2010 TED conference. "The Beauty of Information" tells the reader how information is visually presented and how it relates, as well as the facts associated with it, to make information design more interesting and information decision-making more effective. We live in an age of information explosion. Every minute, every second, we get information from TV, newspapers or the Internet. We don't even have time to think about it, we are overwhelmed by all the information. So we need a new way to discover the beauty and joy of information. The authors of "The Beauty of Information" spent a year collecting more than 200 new examples of graphic information design and exploring a range of visual themes.
