TEXT INPUT ON SMART WATCH, YES, IT IS DOABLE!
TEver think of having a QWERTY keyboard on a watch screen? Hold on, what? Well, if there’s an intelligent wording library engine which evolves while using, it is doable. I worked with a crazy engineering team in Tokyo to finish this demo for the annual Sony Open Day exhibit in 2013. This QWERTY keyboard actually has only three buttons, with all alphabets distributed on them in the same fashion of a regular keyboard. The engine calculates the most possible word combination based on a words frequency database and the context. It reveals all candidates by swiping up for the complex word. It is slow at beginning, but keeps growing as using. This IME also support handwriting, which sounds not that surprising.
将一块QWERTY全键盘塞进一个智能手表的屏幕中有多疯狂？在2013年Sony东京总部的开放日展览中这样的想法变成了现实。但是方寸大小的屏幕如何用手指准确交互呢？设计师与Sony东京总部的一个工程师团队紧密合作，将他们研发数年的智能匹配词库技术实现在了智能手表上，也就是将全键盘划分为三个大的区域，而仅通过触碰这三个区域，就可以通过专门研发的词语匹配引擎和高频词库，来计算出可能的候选词，同时利用机器学习在每次输入中学习使用者的输入习惯，更正错误的匹配，通过不断使用在实现更加精准且个性化的三键输入。
